Genesis & the Days of Creation Part 2 | Professor John Lennox Part 2 of Professor John Lennox’s remarkable talk on Genesis & the Days of Creation is now available! What if the days of creation in Genesis mean something far more profound than we've been taught? In what may be his most important lecture, Professor Lennox examines the Hebrew meaning of “day,” the science behind creation, and why our existence is no accident. But his conclusion goes far beyond science. It points us to Christ Himself.

Did Genesis get it right? Can science and Scripture agree on the origins of the universe? In this special two-part release of Ideas Have Consequences, Larry Alex Taunton revisits a fascinating 2009 conference talk by Oxford professor, mathematician, and Christian apologist John Lennox, exploring one of Christianity's most debated questions: How should we understand the creation account in Genesis? Drawing on science, Scripture, philosophy, and history, Lennox examines the relationship between God's Word and God's creation, challenging the assumption that scientific discovery and biblical truth must be at odds. From the age of the universe and the six days of creation to Galileo, biblical interpretation, and the fine-tuning of the cosmos, Lennox encourages Christians to approach Genesis with intellectual honesty, theological conviction, and humility. In this episode: Does Genesis contradict modern science? What does the Bible actually mean by the six days of creation? Can Christians disagree about Genesis while remaining faithful to Scripture? What can Galileo teach us about interpreting the Bible? Why does Genesis place humanity at the center of creation? What does the fine-tuning of the universe reveal about its origins? Whether you're a skeptic, a scientist, or a Christian wrestling with the creation account, this discussion offers a thoughtful examination of faith, reason, and the origins of our universe. We examine difficult questions surrounding faith, violence, and tolerance. This episode features a candid speech addressing the uncomfortable realities of Islamic extremism and the global implications of violence attributed to the religion. We look at the speaker's personal experiences and their challenge to how modern societies process acts of terror. The conversation moves beyond typical talking points to ask whether our current framework of religious tolerance is equipped to handle the rise of global terrorism. By analyzing specific incidents of violence, the discussion forces a confrontation with the true nature of these ideologies and their impact on the future of Western civilization. Who really holds the power in a democracy—and what happens when influence increasingly flows through institutions that voters never elected? In this episode of Ideas Have Consequences, Larry Alex Taunton sits down with Data Republican founder Jennica Pounds and Terrel Corleau to discuss Pounds’ upcoming book, Unelected, and her investigation into the networks connecting NGOs, government funding, philanthropy, and the modern “democracy” ecosystem. Pounds recounts her brief time working with DOGE, the controversy surrounding her departure, and how being doxxed and targeted pushed her deeper into following the money. She lays out her argument that enormous networks of NGOs, foundations, contractors, government agencies, and international institutions have accumulated significant influence outside traditional electoral politics. The conversation explores USAID, Pentagon spending, government contractors, Carnegie and Rockefeller philanthropy, George Soros, funds sent overseas, the role of NGOs in shaping institutions, and whether emerging technology and AI could give ordinary citizens new tools to hold powerful systems accountable. Annie Frey discusses how “fascism” is used as a political insult and asks Larry Alex Taunton to define it and address claims about Donald Trump. Taunton argues fascism is not an extreme-right ideology but an “ideological twin” of communism, emphasizing that both are totalitarian, suppress civil liberties, and can include antisemitism, with fascism allowing nominal private property controlled by the state and often regimenting the economy for war. He traces “anti-fascist” rhetoric and Antifa’s origins to Soviet and East German propaganda after World War II, meant to portray communism as Nazism’s opposite despite similarities and historical cooperation such as the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact. Taunton disputes the “horseshoe” framing, says labeling fascism as right-wing is a postwar smear, calls Nazis socialists, and claims DEI and ESG are “fascist” tools to harness the economy against the American people. Is the West repeating the mistakes of civilizations that came before it? In this episode of Ideas Have Consequences, Larry Alex Taunton sits down with Seth Gruber, founder of the White Rose Resistance, to discuss his new film and book, The Last Stand: Christ or Chaos — The War for the West. The project argues that the cultural battles surrounding abortion, sexuality, family, and human life are part of a much older struggle over the foundations of Western civilization. Drawing parallels between ancient Rome and the modern West, Seth discusses abortion and infanticide, the sexual revolution, fertility and surrogacy, J.D. Unwin’s Sex and Culture, and his interpretation of Romans 1. The conversation also examines Seth’s claims concerning depopulation and the World Economic Forum, as well as the broader question at the heart of The Last Stand: what happens to a civilization when its understanding of human life, family, sexuality, and God fundamentally changes?
